New Yorker Ruben Cohen and David Zara veteran pilots and oral surgeons kill Aspen plane crash

Two men from New York were killed after a small plane they were traveling to crashed east of Aspen, Colorado on Saturday afternoon.

Authorities confirmed on Sunday that the bodies of Ruben Cohen and David Zara were found near the Midway Pass, about nine miles east of Aspen near the Continental Divide.

The Midway Pass is a vast area that culminates at 12,140 feet in the Hunter Frying Pan Wilderness, which is part of the White River National Forest.

Zara, 58, was a professional pilot who previously founded the charter company ZenAir and Tradewind Aviation.

In 2015, Zara sued fashion designer Donna Karan’s son-in-law, Giampaolo de Felice, for escaping him from the profits of their co-owned Zen Air.

According to the New York Post, Zara has not been involved in the trade winds for “several years.” It is unknown what his relationship with Cohen was.
