Natural gas prices become volatile trade after the Texas fire, according to new inventory data

Government data showing low natural gas inventories helped restore prices following a sharp drop on Wednesday at a Texas fuel export facility on Wednesday that will curb foreign shipments this summer.

Fuel prices for energy generation were at a 14-year high on Wednesday when news of a fire at one of the country’s largest liquefied natural gas export facilities fell. Energy Information Administration’s weekly inventory reports fell more than 16% on Thursday before showing little progress ahead of the summer air conditioning season to fill home storage facilities and reduced losses.
