The NYPD flooded the network when they tried to track down the suspect when he downloaded three magazines to the Sunset Park wagon.
Armed officers were running platforms across five neighborhoods amid fears that the suspect has not yet been caught.
Meanwhile, police presence also increased in Boston, Philadelphia and Washington DC, although officials said there were no credible threats.
The commute turned up unexpectedly during rush hour this morning as they continue to pile up at New York subway stations.
New York Mayor Eric Adams has come after he vowed to double the number of NYPDs patrolling the subway system.

BROOKLYN: There has been no interruption in commuting during rush hour this morning as it continues to pile up at New York subway stations.

The search for a “person of interest” in the attack is a multi-state search, with police offering a $ 50,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.
Police said he rented a set of keys found at the crime scene from an abandoned U-Haul truck in Brooklyn.

Overall crime in New York City is up 44.3% from last year. NYPD data show that transportation crime rose 68 percent and shooting incidents by 8.4 percent.
