Los Angeles – Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, releases the first children’s book rooted in the relationship between Prince Harry and his son Archie.
Random House Children’s Books announced on Tuesday that “The Bench” will be released on June 8th.
Award-winning illustrator Christian Robinson will draw the illustrations and Megan will narrate the audiobook version. According to a statement announcing the release, the book features the moments they share with diverse groups of fathers and sons.
The book states that it was born from a poem that Megan wrote for Harry on his first Father’s Day after Archie’s birth.
“That poem became this story. Christians layered beautiful, airy watercolor illustrations that captured the warmth, joy, and comfort of father-son relationships in all disciplines. This expression is me. Of particular importance to, Christians and I worked closely together to draw this special bond through a comprehensive lens. “
This book is one of several projects published by Megan and Harry since he left his royal duties in early 2020. Actor Meghan, formerly known as Megan Markle, narrated Disney’s natural movie “Elephant,” and the couple signed a Netflix contract. The first project of the streaming service focuses on Invictus Games, a contest for sick and injured military and veterans defended by Harry.
Archie will be two years old on Thursday. Megan and Harry are hoping for a girl to be their second child later this year.
Robinson wrote “Another” and “You Matter”, drew illustrations, and won the Caldecott Medal and Coretta Scott King Award for his art on “Last Stop on Market Street.”
