Maxine Waters warns Trump that “a civil war can begin”

Democrat Maxine Waters called on the House of Representatives to blame President Trump on Wednesday, claiming he was “the worst president in US history.”

In a floor speech, Waters warned that last week’s riots were “unstoppable” Trump’s “grasp of power.” She said: “This president intends to exercise power long after he is absent … he can start a civil war.”

After the riots in the Houses of Parliament, Trump made a statement promising a change of power.

Waters’ comment was added to a long list of bitter criticisms Trump faced when the Democratic-led house appeared ready to impeach him with just a few days left in his term. The FBI has warned that armed protests are planned against all 50 State Capitols in preparation for President Biden’s inauguration.

Mr. Trump told Fox News on Wednesday that the demonstrators wanted to maintain peace.

Maxine Waters “missed the opportunity” to impeach Trump “for treason,” Congress says

“In light of the reports of more demonstrations, I strongly recommend that there be no violence, violation of law or vandalism of any kind,” Trump said.

“It’s not what I represent, it’s not what America represents. I call on all Americans to help relieve tension and calm their temper. Thank you.”

Since last week, Democrats have accused Trump of inciting armed riots and claimed he was dangerous to the country. At least six Republicans, including Wyoming’s GOP chairman Liz Cheney, said they would also support impeachment.

“The President of the United States summoned the mob, gathered the mob, and set the flames of the attack on fire,” Cheney said. “Everything after that was his action. Without the president, nothing would have happened. The president would have been able to intervene immediately and powerfully to stop the violence. It was. ”

Senator Lindsey Graham, RS.C. Others like have pushed the impeachment back.

“Supporting President Trump’s impeachment under these circumstances could cause great damage to government agencies and lead to further violence when the president seeks calm,” he tweeted Wednesday. ..
