Manson, officially known as Brian Warner, has been charged with two misdemeanors of simple assault resulting from his encounter at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion in Gilford on August 19, 2019.

According to police, Manson approached filmmaker Susan Fountain in the stage pit area of ​​the venue, bringing his face closer to the camera and spitting. He has also been accused of blowing his nose in her arms and hands.

In a court document released Tuesday, Manson’s lawyer Kent Barker argued that the type of filming that Fountain was doing typically exposes videographers to “accidental contact” with body fluids. ing.

“It is well known that the defendant’s achievements over the last two decades include the same shocking and stimulating disgust that has occurred here,” Barker wrote. “The victim’s suspect agreed to expose himself to potential contact with sweat, saliva and sputum nearby.”

Barker also said Manson would argue that contact related to spitting and sneezing was unintentional.

Manson has pleaded not guilty to the indictment and could be sentenced to less than a year’s imprisonment and a $ 2,000 fine, respectively, if convicted.
