While performing at the “Kelly Clarkson Show,” the 76-year-old actor talked about his experience attending his daughter Carry’s graduation ceremony last month.

“It was very nice. I’m very proud of her. But Kelly, when you go out and other parents say it’s a little rough. I’m proud of your granddaughter. “The two Oscar winners said.

“I said,’Hmm, I don’t know. Yeah, I see,'” Michael recalls. “I’m not going to make it personal. They’re just trying to be kind.”

The turmoil between his father and grandfather did not depress Michael. He publicly erupted on Instagram about his daughter the same day.

“Congratulations to Carry’s and the whole class in 2021!” He wrote. “Your mom and I are very proud of you! We love you so much and are very excited about your future. The best hasn’t come yet! ❤️ Dad.”

Carry’s graduation essentially moved the wheels for Michael and his wife, Catherine Zeta Jones, to become an empty nest.

“I’m scared. Really so. You look at each other and go,’Well, that’s just you and me, baby,'” he said.

Catherine also recently talked about the prospect of Carys moving out.

“Michael and I are just trying to build an empty nest, but the word is very cold to me. What does empty nesting mean? They don’t go anywhere. Just school. Just go to, “she said.

Dylan, 20, the son of Michael and Catherine, has already moved from his parents’ home. He is currently studying at Brown University.
