My fellow Americans, people in this country, spoke. They brought us a clear victory. A compelling victory. Victory of “our people”.
We have won the most votes ever cast on a presidential ticket in the history of the country — 74 million. I am humble in the trust and confidence you have placed in me. I swear to be a president who seeks to unite, not divide.
The red and blue states are not displayed, but the United States is displayed. And who will do my best to win the trust of all the people? That is the purpose of America: people. And that is the purpose of our administration.
I searched for this office to regain the American soul. Rebuilding the backbone of the country, the middle class. Respect America again all over the world and unite us here.
It is my lifetime honor that millions of Americans have voted for this vision. And now, the job of making this vision a reality is the job of our time.
As I said many times before, I’m Jill’s husband. Without Jill, Hunter, Ashley, all my grandchildren and their spouses, and the love and tireless support of our family, I wouldn’t be here.
They are my heart. Jill is a mom — a military mom — and an educator.
She has devoted her life to education, but teaching is not just what she does. That is who she is. Today is a great day for American educators. Having your own in the White House, Jill will make a great first lady.
And to be able to serve with Kamala Harris, the first woman to be elected to national office in the country, the first black woman, the first South Asian woman, and the wonderful vice president who makes history as the first daughter of immigrants. I am honored. ..
It has been postponed for a long time and reminds all those who fought hard for years to achieve this tonight. But once again, America bent the arc of the moral universe towards justice.
Kamala, Doug-whether you like it or not-you are a family. You have become Honorary Biden, and there is no escape. To all those who participated in the vote in the midst of this pandemic, local election officials — you deserve special thanks from this country.
To my campaign team and all the volunteers, all the people who have dedicated a lot to make this moment possible, I owe it all to you. And to everyone who supported us: I’m proud of the campaign we built and ran. I am proud to have formed the widest and most diverse coalition in history.
Democrats, Republicans, independents. Progressive, moderate, conservative. Old and young. Cities, suburbs, rural areas. Gay, straight, transgender. white. Latin system. Asian. Native American.
And especially for the moment when this campaign was the worst — the African-American community has re-launched for me. They always have my back, and I have yours.
From the beginning I said I wanted a campaign to represent America, and I think we did. Well, that’s how I want to show the administration.
And to those who voted for President Trump, I understand your disappointment tonight.
I lost a few elections myself. But now let’s give each other a chance. It’s time to get rid of the tough rhetoric. To lower the temperature. To meet again.
Listen to each other again. To make progress, you must stop treating your enemies as enemies. We are not enemies. We are American
The Bible says that everything has a season — when it is built, when it is cut, when it is sown. And time to heal. This is the time to be healed in America.
What are the wills of people now that the campaign is over? What is our mission? I believe this is: Americans have asked us to marshall the power of dignity and the power of justice. Organize the power of science and the power of hope in the great battles of our time.
A battle to control the virus. A battle to build prosperity. A battle to ensure the health of your family. A battle to achieve racial justice and eradicate systematic racism in this country. A battle to save the climate. A battle to restore dignity, defend democracy and give everyone in this country a fair shot.
Our job begins with managing COVID. Until you control this virus, you can’t repair the economy, rejuvenate, or enjoy the most precious moments of your life. Embrace all the most important moments for us: grandchildren, birthdays, weddings, graduations, etc.
On Monday, I appointed a group of leading scientists and experts as transition advisors to help adopt the Biden-Harris COVID program and transform it into a blueprint for action starting January 20, 2021. To do.
The plan is built on the foundation of science. It builds from compassion, empathy, and concern. I will spare no effort or commitment to turn this pandemic around.
I ran as a proud Democrat. I am now the President of the United States. For those who didn’t vote for me, I work as hard as those who voted. Let’s begin this era of harsh demonization in America — now and here.
The refusal of Democrats and Republicans to cooperate with each other is not due to a mysterious force beyond our control. It’s a decision. That is the choice we make.
And if we can decide not to cooperate, we can decide to cooperate. And I believe this is part of a mission from Americans. They want us to cooperate. That is the choice I make. And I call on Congress (as well as Democrats and Republicans) to make that choice with me.
The American story is about a slow but steady expansion of opportunities. No doubt: Too many dreams have been postponed for too long.
We must make national promises a reality for everyone, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, identity or disability. America has always been shaped by inflection points — by the moment we make difficult decisions about who we are and what we want to be.
Lincoln in 1860 — Came to save the Union. 1932 FDR — Promises a New Deal to a needy country. 1960 JFK — Pledges a new frontier. And 12 years ago, when Barack Obama made history, he told us, “Yes, we can.”
We stand at the inflection point again. We have the opportunity to defeat despair and build a country of prosperity and purpose. We can do that. We know what we can do. I’ve been talking about the fight for the American soul for a long time. We must restore the American soul.
Our country is shaped by a constant battle between our better angels and our darkest impulses. It’s time for our better angels to win.
Tonight, the whole world is looking at America. I believe America is the sign of the earth at its best. And we guide by the power of our example, not by the power of our own. I have always believed that America can be defined in one word. That is a possibility.
In America, everyone should be given the opportunity to go as long as their dreams and God-given abilities take them. You see, I believe in the potential of this country. We are always looking ahead.
Towards a more free and fair America. Towards America, which creates jobs with dignity and respect. Towards America to cure diseases like cancer and Alzheimer’s disease. To America where no one is left behind. Towards America, which never gives up and never gives up.
This is a wonderful country. And we are good people. This is the United States. And when we did it together, there was never something we couldn’t do.
For the last few days of the campaign, I was thinking about hymns that were of great significance to me and my family, especially my late son Bo. It captures the beliefs that I believe support me and support America.
And I hope it can provide some comfort and comfort to more than 230,000 families who have lost their loved ones to this horrific virus this year. My heart is directed at each of you. Hopefully this hymn will also comfort you.
“And he lifts you with the wings of an eagle, supports you with the breath of dawn, makes you shine like the sun, and hugs you in the palm of his hand.” And now together-of the eagle With wings-we embark on the work that God and history want us to do.
Be a country that we know what we can do, with all our hearts and firm hands, belief in America and each other, with love for the country and a thirst for justice.
A united country. The country has been strengthened. The country has been healed. United States of America. God bless you. And may God protect our army.
