NEW YORK – Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck were married Saturday night in a Las Vegas nightclub, culminating a relationship that spanned two decades in two separate romances and topped countless tabloid covers.
Lopez announced her wedding on Sunday in her fan bulletin titled “We Did It.” Lopez made public her engagement initially in April in the same newsletter, “On the J Lo.”
“Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient,” Lopez wrote in a message signed by Jennifer Lynn Affleck.
Lopez wrote that the couple flew to Las Vegas on Saturday, lined up for their leave with four other couples, and married shortly after midnight at A Little White Wedding Chapel, a chapel that features a “love tunnel” by car. a Bluetooth speaker made its brief walk down the aisle. She called it the best night of their lives.
“Stay long enough and maybe find the best time of your life on a walk through Las Vegas at 12:30 in the morning in the tunnel of love that you will cross with your children and what you will go through forever,” Lopez said.
The news of their wedding first spread on Sunday after the Clark County Secretary’s office in Nevada showed that the couple obtained a marriage license that was processed on Saturday. The marriage license file showed Lopez planning to take the name Jennifer Affleck.
Lopez and Affleck’s representatives declined to comment.
Lopez, 52, and Affleck, 49, became famous in the early 2000s, spawning the nickname “Bennifer,” before reviving their romance last year. They previously starred together in “Gigli” from 2003 and “Jersey Girl” from 2004. By that time, they were engaged but never married.
Affleck married Jennifer Garner in 2005, with whom he shares three children. They divorced in 2018.
