Ivana Trump spent a stint in rehab in Malibu, where the writer insisted her name was “Maria.”

Ivana Trump befriended an heiress of the same name at a Malibu rehab where she treated her patients to a champagne lunch.

Ivana Lowell, daughter of the English writer Lady Caroline Blackwood, the couple stayed together at the Malibu center, linking them with their name.

Mourners gathered outside San Vicente Ferrer Church on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, near the home where Ivana, 73, was found dead last week.

The Trump family gathered in New York City to pay tribute to Ivana, Donald’s first wife and the mother of his three oldest children – Eric, Ivanka and Don Jr.

Heir Lowell Guinness says he spent some time at the Malibu facility under his name, years after Ivana and Donald divorced in 1990.

He met the socialite for the first time in the ‘Pink Palace’, that he asked to be called ‘Maria’ and that he was accompanied by a young man called ‘Roberto’ during his stay.

Writing in the Air Mail, Lowell said: “A tall woman almost as tall with blonde hair and a face of makeup was shouting to anyone who would listen. “How many times do I have to tell you my name is not Ivana, it’s Maria. I’m Maria.”

Ivana Trump reportedly spent little time at the rehab center, where she celebrated with other patients over champagne before gifting author Ivanka Lowell with a bottle of her perfume.

“When he calmed down, I turned around and introduced myself: ‘Hi, I’m Ivana.’ At first he seemed confused, but then, as his anger subsided, his face began to soften.’

Lowell explained that this was the beginning of their unlikely friendship, and said that during their time in rehab, Ivana didn’t feel “the need” to go to the group or a meeting, and when asked why she was there, Ivana simply replied, “pure exhaustion.”

But she said Trump had become “integral, part of their team” and had spoken “honestly and candidly” about an abusive marriage, although it’s not clear which one of her husbands it is.

After her split from Donald Trump, Ivana began an affair with Italian businessman Riccardo Mazzucchelli, whom she married in 1995, but the marriage was short-lived and the couple divorced two years later.

She then married Italian actor Rossano Rubicondi, who passed away in October 2021.

Lowell added: “Roberto and Ivana never stuck to the daily schedules set for everyone else.

“They would go out to lunch with friends in Malibu or go shopping in Santa Barbara.

“I would look out the window of my therapist’s office, stiffly bored at having to retell stories of childhood trauma, to see Ivana and Roberto pull up in their red convertible.

“Ivana would laugh as she pulled endless shopping bags out of the back seat of the car, and I could still hear her giggling as her high heels clattered up the stairs.”

Toward the end of her stay, Lowell says Ivana hosted a champagne dinner for her and the other patients, saying “we all deserve a treat.”

Those attending the dinner reportedly had a rehab hat, but Ivana “made it disappear” before a waiter appeared with champagne and crystal flutes.

But those who paid to stay in rehab did not touch alcohol, but Ivana remained “absolutely indifferent”.

Before leaving, Ivana presented the author with a bottle of her IVANA perfume, with a note saying ‘From one Ivana to another with love’.

She added: “I still have the perfume bottle, and I’m sad it’s gone. Who will be the next Ivana?”

Lowell also said that she once met Donald after being assigned to interview her boyfriend because the former president said, ‘Ivana! Are you kidding me? I just removed one, and now you’re telling me there’s another one?’

All of Ivana’s children spoke at Wednesday’s two-hour mass in front of 100 mourners, including Donald, his wife Melania and 16-year-old son Barron.

Ivanka told the crowd: “Growing up, my mother didn’t tell me that a woman could do anything she wanted — she showed me.

Ivana, depicted in Eric and Lara’s marriage, would not seem to participate in the more rigid structures of the rehabilitation process.

“He was a pioneer for both men and women. My mother once told me there was nothing she couldn’t do in heels.

“He taught us how to spear fish and then prepare what we caught. My mother opened our minds.’

Don Jr. spoke next and regaled the congregation with fond memories and jokes. Before returning to his seat, he said, ‘I love you, Mom.’

Eric Trump, the youngest, spoke next: “He had a head; she had beauty He was the embodiment of the American dream…

“She was a force of nature, she could defeat any man on the slopes, any woman on the track.

“He ruled the three of us [kids] an iron fist but also a heart of gold.’

A cluster of red roses stood in front of the altar, surrounded by 73 lit candles that symbolized each year of Ivana’s life.

After the service, Ivana’s body was carried out of the building in a golden casket, past her family and dozens of VIP guests.

A woman, who seemed to be Ivana’s caretaker, cried on the steps of the church as the wheels passed.

Ivana was also honored by her favorite New York restaurant, Nello, who lit candles and placed flowers as they rested at her favorite table.

She was buried next to the first hole on the lawn of her ex-husband’s Bedminster Golf Club after an invitation-only funeral service.
