‘Olivia’ author Ian Falconer dies at 63

Falconer’s Olivia book featured a clever piglet with a brilliant imagination named Olivia, a character he developed for his young niece in 1996.

Born August 25, 1969 in Ridgefield, Connecticut, Falconer studied art history for two years at New York University before attending Parsons School of Design as an artist. Falconer is survived by his mother Sandy, sisters Tonia and Tory, and nieces and nephews Olivia, Ian, August, Perry, and Will.
