Jena Malone, the protagonist of Hunger Games, helped save a small dog from being tortured to death, and was then taken in by an angry mob.
The 37-year-old actor stopped his car when he saw a bichon frieze dog named Champion when he saw the lead being blown up on Hollywood Sunset Boulevard on Monday.
Malone, in the series of the dystopian film starring Johanna Mason, ran away from the unnamed assailant Champion, who allegedly owned Champion.
Three other men were then shot as they were being abused and beaten to the ground, while a man shouted at him with a stick and shouted, “What the hell are you doing?”
NBCLA reported that the dog broke his ribs and broke his leg.
Actress Jena Malone Hunger Games, pictured, recounts how she helped save a man who was being abused by a male abuser.
Malone appears with the dog, the so-called Champion, in the immediate aftermath of the attack
A group of men were filmed beating up a man accused of abusing Champion, and one of them allegedly attacked the alleged torturer with a stick.
In the immediate aftermath of the attack, Malone said, “I pulled it out and started chasing it because it wasn’t quite right.”
Surprisingly, the man accused of abusing the dog was regretted when a cameraman ironed it, and said the animal’s bad behavior angered him.
He said, “That’s why I did it. She’s my mother’s dog and she’ll have to obey me.”
The alleged attacker has since been arrested on charges of animal cruelty, and the crowd filmed in the attack will not be charged.
But lawyer Andrew Leventhal says the men will have to stop beating the suspect after he was thrown to the ground.
This is accused of attacking the Champion. He told a TV camera that the dog had not obeyed him. The champion was said to have belonged to his mother
The abused dog, named Champion, broke his leg and ribs and is still in hospital awaiting further surgery.
Malon later explained the drama on his Twitter account: ‘This was really scary. I saw a man repeatedly kicking a small dog in the evening, throwing it in the air and drowning the dog completely.
“I yelled at him to stop by my car, but he didn’t. I got out of the car to try to get the dog but he started running.
“So I started chasing him. I saw other people watching the street in dismay, as they must have seen the same disgusting behavior I had seen, so I tried to point to a man in an orange vest to run after me.
At the time, I didn’t think I would recover the dog on my own. After chasing him, I looked back and there were 5 other men behind me. It felt like a miracle.
“So at this point, I let go and take the lead because I don’t have any responsibility for trying to stop an adult. I went back to pick up my car (it was still running) and drove to see if they were catching it.
A large group gathered 6 blocks below the harassment and it looks like the man no longer had the dog. So I pulled over to make sure they would take care of that dog. I didn’t see the fight but I was told that the man did not leave the dog without a fight.
“And this was the end of a hard fight. The cops came and took the boy. I waited with the dog until another policeman came to take me to the hospital. The dog was covered in dirt and didn’t care for months. ‘
Revealing what had happened to the Champion since then, Malon continued: “After being released from the hospital, the dog is fine, but has a broken rib, broken bone in his hind legs and another fracture in his right leg.” It was absolutely amazing to see an animal treated that way.
“I’m sorry it ended in a fight, but the dog was going to die. No questions asked. I can’t imagine the level of torture I’ve endured so far. And now he’s safe in a hospital. There is still no word on its owner.
“Even though it’s important to know, I saw the man arrested and he wasn’t in the blood and he seemed consistent after this filmed fight.”
Malon concluded: ‘Update: The dog was chipped and returned with its owner. The dog had been missing for a week. His name is champion and he is happy to be out of the hospital and with his owner. Be careful to go fund me link soon. There will be a lot of operations to take care of the owners alone. ”
He then shared a GoFundMe link to raise money for the Champion, which had raised more than $ 6,000 since Wednesday night.
