An actor working in a haunted house in Ohio was fired after accidentally stabbing an 11-year-old boy with a real “Bowie-style” knife he had as a prop.
The incident occurred on September 18th at 8 pm on the 7th floor of the Hell Haunted House in Kaiyahoga County Fairgrounds, Berea, Ohio.
According to police, 22-year-old Christopher Pogozelski, one of the haunted house employees who worked at the attraction that night, was trying to scare the incoming people.
As Frank Bednarski approached the haunted house with his sister and friends, Pogozelski rubbed a knife on the ground in front of them and began to stab the ground near the boy’s feet.
The knife reportedly passed through Bednarski’s red Crocs-style shoes and cut his left toe.
His toes were slightly bleeding when the police arrived. The staff provided first aid to Bednarski and his mother, Karen, was called in.

Karen told WEWS that her son went to the 7th floor of the Haunted House in Hell that night, hoping to have a terrifying and enjoyable time with his sister and family friends.
As Pogozelsky approached her son, things quickly became scary, she said.
“He approached my son, he had a knife, and his intention was to scare him, but my son said to him and replied,” It’s a fake. I I’m not scared, “said Bednarski.
Karen told reporters that she was also upset and the staff’s response after the incident.
“They just kept saying that an accident would happen, an accident would happen,” Bednarski said.
A 22-year-old actor from Middleburg Heights told police that he brought a knife from his home, even though the haunted house provided the actor with fake props.
Police say they admitted to police that it was “not a good idea” after they confiscated the knife
“I didn’t mean to hurt anyone,” he said.
When Karen was asked if she wanted to take her son to the hospital, she refused because she wanted to go through the haunted house.
“Of course I didn’t want to make a scene. I wanted to do it the right way,” Bednarski said.
Karen later decided to pursue the alleged assault due to negligence, and the actor was released from his position at the attraction, the report said.

“The biggest thing for me is that you know, I don’t understand this guy’s mental state,” Karen said. “He must have something wrong. He shouldn’t work in such a facility. That’s what upsets me,” Bednarski said.
The actor’s mother later called the authorities and asked her to return the knife, but they informed her that she would hold it, Cleveland.com reports.
