Fourteen children were injured in a Long Island park after a bouncy house suddenly collapsed during a year-end field trip.
A six- and seven-year-old boy broke his leg on Tuesday in an incident in Wyandanch Park, New York.
Wyandanch School District hosted a party for primary school students, according to Suffolk County Police.
It didn’t end well for the other four children, who had to be taken to hospital. Most of the injuries sustained in the incident, however, were minor.
It is not clear whether the bounce slide was installed correctly or whether the weather conditions were a factor in the collapse.
A witness said that at the time of the crash, several of the 14 children on the giant inflatable slide were thrown into the air and landed on the toughest tennis courts in the area.
“He flew about 15 feet in the air and landed near the gate,” Stacey Brown told CBS New York. “I’m praying that everyone is fine, especially the young man who flew … scared, everyone is scared.”
An inflatable slide with a rock wall also collapsed on Tuesday in Wyandanch, Long Island, New York, at an end-of-year ceremony.
