North Texas (CBSDFW.COM) – CVS Health has given the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine to nearly 8,000 skilled nursing facilities in Texas and across the country.
Here in Texas, CVS Health has partnered with approximately 2,000 long-term care facilities throughout the state. Since the state approved the start of the program on December 28, the group has completed the first dose to all 581 skilled nursing facilities and the second dose is on track.
This week, CVS will end the initial dose of nearly 90% of all 1,431 long-term care facilities and other long-term care facilities served by the group.
Karen S, Executive Vice President of CVS Health. Lynch said: “Our dedicated medical professionals contact caregivers and staff as soon as possible based on the activation date selected by the state.”
Initial doses (over 40,000 total) at all long-term care centers that have selected CVS Health to provide COVID-19 vaccination are expected to be completed by mid-February.
