Firefighters say the Far Westside snack shop needs major repairs after a fire in the attic

According to the San Antonio Fire Department, the Far West Side snack shop will need serious repairs after a fire in the attic has caused serious damage to the building.

A fire broke out at Tropical Express on Block 10100 of Culebra Road on Sunday afternoon.

According to SAFD, a few employees were cooking in the building when they noticed a slight flickering of the lights as they began to smell smoke.

When they went to see the attic, SAFD said there was already a “well-involved fire.”

According to the fire department, everyone was able to get out of the building and no one was injured.

According to SAFD, the roof and kitchen area may require major repairs, but the building is not completely lost.

The cause of the fire is still unknown and investigations are ongoing.
