Facebook’s global advertising chief Carolyn Everson leaves the company.

Everson, who has worked for Facebook for over 10 years, has been the face of a major advertiser as Vice President of Global Business Group. According to eMarketer, Facebook is an advertising giant that is expected to account for nearly a quarter of global digital advertising spending in 2021.

Everson wrote on his Facebook page, “I’m very proud of what we’re trying to achieve, but much more proud of the support we’ve shown to each other with our team, especially during difficult times. “I always said at my funeral that no one mentioned the amount of income I supervised, but one day someone said my Facebook legacy was my team. I’m very much looking forward to starting a new chapter, which will be said to be in how it has emerged for the client, and the industry. “

Everson was a liaison with major marketers during major Facebook-related controversies, including a boycott of the platform last summer by major advertisers.

Nikola Mendelson, EMEA Regional Head of Facebook’s Global Business Group, will be appointed as interim leader, a spokeswoman said.

A Facebook spokeswoman said in an email, “I wish Carolyn move on to a new chapter. Thank you for her contribution.”
