(Reuters) – Friday’s Fortnite creator Epic Games opposed Apple Inc’s efforts to put orders delivered in antitrust trials on hold. This is due to a potentially long appeal process.

In September, Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers of the United States defeated https://www.reuters.com/article/apple-epic-games-idTRNIKBN2G61IK. This includes some of the iPhone makers’ App Store rules, such as prohibiting developers from directing users to other payment options. In addition to Apple’s in-app payment system, it’s a partial win for Epic and other app makers.

Apple will have to comply with the injunction until December 9, but earlier this month the company said it would appeal the ruling and ordered Gonzales Rogers as the appeal process, which could take more than a year, progressed. Requested to hold.

Epic on Friday alleged that Apple had filed with the court that it did not meet the legal criteria for the suspension.

Epic said Apple’s positive comments on the decision shortly after landing and the delay in seeking a suspension show that the enactment would not hurt.

“The public interest supports denial (Apple’s request). Injunctions are the only way to effective relief,” Epic wrote. “History … shows that Apple will not make any changes unless there is an injunction.”

Apple didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.

A hearing on Apple’s request is scheduled for November 9.
