How many flights were canceled today on DFW and Love?

A winter storm was wreaking havoc on flyers traveling in and out of North Texas on Wednesday.

Dallas—I Knew Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday it wasn’t a good day for driving in North Texas.

Apparently it’s not a good day for flying. Thousands of flights to and from North Texas were canceled on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Dallas Fort Worth International Airport had a combined 521 cancellations on Thursday to and from DFW, compared to 34 at smaller Dallas Love Field Airport.

Cancellations from DFW accounted for 28% of all outbound flights, according to the company. Flight-ready dataIt accounted for 27% of all inbound flights to DFW on Thursday.

Love Field cancellations accounted for 8% of departures and 1% of arrivals.

DFW Airport tweeted Monday that it is “actively monitoring weather forecasts and making necessary preparations” ahead of winter storms.

The airport asked flyers to check the latest flight status with airlines before coming to the airport.

North Texas was expected to continue with subzero rain, sleet and subzero temperatures Tuesday through Wednesday. A winter storm warning issued by the National Weather Service has been extended from Wednesday morning through Thursday morning at 9 AM.
