CPS Energy will send a crew member to Houston on Wednesday morning to help restore power to the areas affected by Hurricane Nicholas.
A CPS official said the crew had been dispatched in response to a request for assistance from CenterPoint Energy in Houston.
According to CPS Energy, more than 30 employees, including overhead linemen, pole crews, fleet personnel, safety teams and management, will leave San Antonio at 7am for Houston.
Officials say CenterPoint Energy expects the crew to stay in Houston for up to five days.
Hurricane Nicholas landed in the eastern part of the Matagorda Peninsula early Tuesday morning. It was soon downgraded to a tropical cyclone.
