Texas sheriff’s deputy taken to hospital after 18-wheeler hits icy road

TRAVIS COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — A sheriff’s deputy was taken to a hospital after an 18-wheeler crashed in southeastern Travis County Tuesday morning, the Texas Department of Public Safety told KXAN.

DPS said the collision occurred at Block 3900 of Route 130 near Pierce Lane. The agent was removed from the vehicle and taken to a hospital in Austin.

It is unknown whether a lieutenant was on duty at the time of the crash. DPS is investigating the crash.
