Ohio representative Tim Ryan announced on Monday that he had tested positive for COVID-19. Vaccinated Democrats say they are experiencing only “mild” symptoms.

Ryan is the latest vaccination councilor who tested positive for the virus this year. More than 10 others, including Senator Lindsey Graham, John Hickenlooper, and Angus King, have said they were infected with the virus after receiving both vaccines.
According to the CDC, vaccination greatly reduces the chances of getting the virus, but some groundbreaking infections are expected.People with breakthrough infections have been shown to be much less likely to be hospitalized or die of the virus.
In his presentation, Ryan emphasized the importance of masking and vaccination to prevent the spread of the virus. He also thanked state health care workers, including those who treated him, and called them “the true heroes of this pandemic.”
According to the latest data from the Ohio Department of Health, more than 1 million viruses have been identified and more than 21,000 have died in Ohio.
