Conan O’Brien once gave a late-night show staff an ax after witnessing them being “impatient and rude” to a restaurant waiter.
The incident was claimed in a tweet published Tuesday by former Conan staff writer Todd Levin as an example of the beloved talk show host’s true nobility.
It has also become a bargain for late-night personalities James Cordenhe was recently accused of being the “most abusive customer ever” by New York’s Balthazar restaurant.

O’Brien began working late nights with Conan O’Brien from 1993 to 2009 and helmed The Tonight Show for eight months from 2009 to 2010.
O’Brien’s solo TBS talk show CONAN premiered in 2010 and ended in 2021.
