Comedian Gilbert Gottfried has died at the age of 67

Comedian Gilbert Gottfried passed away on Tuesday. He was 67 years old.

We are saddened to announce that our beloved Gilbert Gottfried has died after a long illness. In addition to being the most iconic voice in the comedy, Gilbert was the wonderful husband, brother, friend and father of his two young children. The exact cause of Gottfried’s death has not yet been announced.

CBSLA interviewed Gottfried in 2017 about his career.

“My first big success came by chance,” Gottfried said. “I was asked to listen to it on MTV, and this was my first successful performance.”

Known for his distinctive voice and shocking humor, Gottfried was a fixator in film and television roles, including “Beverly Hills Police II,” “Troubled Child,” “Look Who’s Talking Too Much,” “Wings,” and “Law and Order: Special.” Victims Unit.

Gottfried is survived by his wife Dara, 14-year-old daughter Lily, 12-year-old son Max, sister Karen and nephew Graham.
