Comedian Gilbert Gottfried has died at the age of 67

Comedian Gilbert Gottfried passed away on Tuesday. He was 67 years old.

His family announced this on Twitter Aladdin The voice actor died, he wrote:

We are saddened to announce that our beloved Gilbert Gottfried has died after a long illness. In addition to being the most iconic voice in the comedy, Gilbert was the wonderful husband, brother, friend and father of his two young children. Although today is a sad day for all of us, please continue to laugh out loud in Gilbert’s honor.

The exact cause of Gottfried’s death has not yet been announced.

CBSLA interviewed Gottfried in 2017 about his career.

“My first big success came by chance,” Gottfried said. “I was asked to listen to it on MTV, and this was my first successful performance.”

Known for his distinctive voice and shocking humor, Gottfried was a fixator in film and television roles, including “Beverly Hills Police II,” “Troubled Child,” “Look Who’s Talking Too Much,” “Wings,” and “Law and Order: Special.” Victims Unit.

He has given his voice to cartoons such as “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”, “Crank Yankers”, “Fairly OddParents” and “Duckman”.

He was also the voice of Aflac Duck in a popular commercial until 2011.

“No one had heard of this insurance company,” Gottfried told CBSLA in 2017. “They wanted me to be a duck, and the rest is history.”

GilbertA documentary about Gottfried’s life and career was released in 2017 with him and his wife, Dara Kravitz.

Gottfried is survived by his wife Dara, 14-year-old daughter Lily, 12-year-old son Max, sister Karen and nephew Graham.

Funeral services are expected to be private.
