Chinese county officials apparently jumped to his death last month while 21 runners were investigating the deaths of a mountain competing in an ultramarathon when it was hit by glaze and strong winds.
CCTV said Wednesday that it had informed police that a man had jumped out of his apartment and died. Investigation revealed that he was Li Zuobi, Jingtai County Communist Party Secretary. The murder was excluded, it said.

On Friday, the Gansu provincial government in western China punished 27 officials and exempted Lee after his death, but dismissed his deputy, CCTV reported. The other two subordinate officials were detained until further investigation was conducted, and the other two were given administrative sanctions, demotions, warnings, and disadvantages.
