Beijing (Reuters) – Wednesday Xi Jinping Jintao of China, Joe Biden is blessed that it has won the US presidential election on November 3, expressed to be able to promote the healthy and stable development of the two countries bilateral relations Xinhua News Agency reported that it did.

Sino-US relations have worsened to the worst in decades when incumbent President Donald Trump has been in office for four years, and controversy has boiled over issues ranging from trade and technology to Hong Kong and the coronavirus.

In his congratulations to Biden, Xi said that a healthy relationship between the world’s two largest economies is expected not only by the basic interests of the two peoples, but also by the international community.

China’s Foreign Ministry congratulated Biden on November 13 almost a week after holding up as Trump, whose many US allies are still challenging the election results, refused to admit defeat.

In 2016, Xi congratulated Trump on November 9, the day after that year’s elections.

Also on Wednesday, China’s Vice President Wang Qishan congratulated Biden’s incumbent fellow Kamala Harris on being elected the next US Vice President, Xinhua said without giving details.
