TechGraph: Could you give us an idea of how far ixamBee has come in one year of existence? From when it started to where it is now?

Chandraprakash Joshi: We started operations in April 2017 and for the first six months we crossed 10,000 registrations. It was a powerful start for ixamBee. Then we launched an e-learning course to establish a revenue model.

In the first year, we almost reached 1 lakh enrollment and strong student testimonials on our learning courses and mock tests. We are now building a job platform for Bharat students in which we seek to help students find jobs in the public and private sectors.

TechGraph: How does ixamBee facilitate the whole learning process digitally?

Chandraprakash Joshi: While most Ed-Tech players used outsourced content and independent teachers, ixamBee retained full control of the learning product. All content and the technology platform were developed in-house. This allowed us to continue building new features and revising content for student exam success.

We invest time in creating content that is clear and can be customized to individual needs. We live in an age of information overload, there is a vast amount of low quality content on the internet. By having complete product control, we reduce clutter and help students get ready 50% faster.

TechGraph: What is the response so far to your online courses?

Chandraprakash Joshi: Sincere students easily recognize the quality of the ixamBee learning experience and join the course. This helps keep our pick rate high. The popularity of ixamBee courses has grown organically through testimonials from selected students.

Approximately 20,000 students have joined our learning courses and the number continues to grow. However, we are invested in building a remarkably superior ixamBee learning experience to give the best returns on the time invested.

TechGraph: What are the new career trends in a competition?

Chandraprakash Joshi: Online learning has provided more opportunities to build a career. Previously, students joined a job and worked there until retirement. Now professional aspirations continue to develop successfully. Someone who is selected as a bank clerk wants to prepare for PO Bank and bank clerks seek to join regulatory bodies like RBI, SEBI, NABARD, IRDA and others.

A large number of private sector employees also appear in due government employment reviews. For the UPSC exam, the interest is always green from all – freshmen or those who are employed. Due to socio-demographic changes, students continually apply for competitions until the age permitting, ie 30 or 32 for most jobs.

TechGraph: ixamBee has collaborated with various industry experts and technology partners to improve the student experience. In the future, do you see more such engagements?

Chandraprakash Joshi: We found that lack of career guidance is the least resolved issue for Level 2/3 students. Therefore, we bring in industry experts who share their experiences and compare various career options to help students decide on their career path. We use technology in content creation and in improving learning outcomes. We will invest more in developing such collaborations to make the ixamBee learning experience more effective in building careers.

TechGraph: What is the roadmap for ixamBee?

Chandraprakash Joshi: More than 50 million students prepare for government employment exams, but only a small percentage will be selected. The rest of the students eventually join the private sector. Companies find it difficult to recruit in small towns because the profiles of these students are not available on Naukari.com or Monster.com.

In addition to the profile details, we have their performance scores. A large number of students who are not selected for government employment seek private employment. We will help these students to build skills for employability in the private sector.
