Chapter 11

Bivol is getting outboxed and outought. lvarez at one point lifted the Bivol high into the air during the clinch. He was clearly frustrated. Bivol took Canelo’s best offer and walked past him. Bivol put up a great fight. He kept Canelo at bay with his deft footwork, ring intelligence and sheer size, making no mistakes that Canelo lived to exploit. But his output has dropped in this round and lvarez has done enough to take a sixth, mostly with his defence. Canelo’s face turned red from Bivol’s hard hit on the head. lvarez has stepped up the pressure but many of his punches have been blocked or parried by the bigger man. Canelo landed with a spicy right in the final seconds but it wasn’t enough to swing the spin. lvarez fights tonight!

Bivol landed a right-handed punch to the body, setting up a combination upstairs. Bivol actually let go of his hand and Canelo responded well. Bivol got the better of the trade, for now. More jabs and straights in combination from Bivol, whose hand speed seemed to annoy Lvarez. Canelo is more than holding back, doing a good body job. Another close but clear round to Bivol.
