“I just like Raiders body language [Thursday] night,” said Bayless. “I love the way they perform as a group on the field. I like how they carry themselves, even the guys from the second and third teams. Their body language looks very confident, like they believe that they will do very well this year.

“I’m going to take a real risk here: It feels like a team that could surprise the division and win it this year.”

Skip Bayless was sold to the Raiders who won the tough AFC West.

Bayless noted his trust in Josh McDaniels, even after his humble coaching experience with the Denver Broncos more than a decade ago. He believes McDaniels’ strength in situational play is better than most, and will translate into a win for the Raiders.

Bayless also said that Derek Carr remains underrated, and McDaniels will bring out the best of the nine-year quarterback.

And don’t forget, Carr will now pitch in to wideout superstar Davante Adams.

“McDaniels is coaching [Carr] and called the game for him,” Bayless said. “He pitched not only at some of the receivers but also his teammates at college who were the best football receivers at Davante Adams.”

Bayless also praised the rest of the options in Carr and McDaniel’s offensive arsenal.

“As a slot receiver, I’m not sure if there’s anyone better than Hunter Renfrow. Cooper Kupp plays more outside, of course, but Hunter Renfrow is a complete underdog to me.”

Renfrow, 26, made 103 receptions for 1,038 yards and nine goals last season, including 80.5% of all his goals. And then there’s Darren Waller, who is out of an intermittent season in which he missed games due to COVID-19 and five weeks towards the end of the year with a knee injury. However, in 11 games, he caught 55 balls for 665 yards and two goals.

“We all know Darren Waller is a tight pass,” said Bayless. “He’s top three or four. So if you want to talk about weaponry, it’s multiple weaponry.”
