Celebrations in Washington include parades, fireworks and a White House barbecue

US President Joe Biden is celebrating the Independence Day holiday Tuesday with a series of events at the White House.

The president and First Lady Jill Biden hosted an event with the National Education Association, followed by a barbecue for military families.

Biden is scheduled to speak at the White House in the evening to mark the holiday with a large group of military personnel, veterans’ families and caregivers.

The White House event also offers the best place to watch Washington’s fireworks show on the National Mall.

The grounds of the US Capitol will be the venue for the annual nationally televised Fourth of July concert. This year’s performers include Chicago, Babyface, the National Symphony Orchestra, and the US Military Band.

Washington will also hold a traditional Independence Day parade on Constitution Avenue on Tuesday.
