A CHILD has died of serious injuries to a teenager, following a suspicious murder sought by police led to a horrific car accident, authorities said.
The alleged killer collided head-on with a vehicle carrying five people inside Friday night at a violent harassment in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota.
Police harassment resulted in a high-speed accident in which the suspect struck an unrelated vehicle and seriously injured two of the five passengers, the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
Four of the residents were taken to hospital.
One of the passengers, a six-year-old girl, was killed as a result of her injuries in the accident, police said.
A 15-year-old female passenger remains hospitalized.
All the other passengers have been discharged from the hospital.
Police tried to defuse the suspect’s vehicle tires, but the device failed to allow the suspect to escape.
This led to high-speed harassment, where the suspect was traveling at a speed of up to 70 mph in a 30 mph residential area, an officer told the dispatch.
Hennepin officials are investigating the incident.
