The stunning five-bed property from Sex Education has gone on the market for £1.5million. 

Symonds Yat in Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire is the home of main character Otis Milburn (Asa Butterfield) and his mother, sex therapist Jean (Gillian Anderson) in the hit Netflix show. 

The unique listing is complete with its own orchard and offers stunning views over the River Wye – with the opportunity available to additionally purchase an old chapel. 

In the show, the house in ‘Moordale’ features in iconic scenes, such as Otis’s house party in the second season and is a recurrent backdrop as the endearing protagonist cycles to school with his best friend Eric (Ncuti Gatwa). 

And, just after the fourth and final season of Sex Education was released on the streaming platform last Thursday, fans have been a rare opportunity to snatch up the incredible property.

The chalet was built in 1912 for use as a salmon fishing lodge in a Norwegian style. It was extended by the previous owner in 2002, in keeping with the original style and design.

The very spacious property is spread over three floors and has five bedrooms – some of which have balconies – and three bathrooms. 

A balcony on the ground floor overlooks the forest, while a long drive encased in stunning woodland – home to many types of wildlife – makes for a private retreat.  

The lower decking features a Swedish hot bath, while a specially built stone pizza oven and bespoke kitchen provide ample opportunity for cooking up delicious meals.

Symonds Yat’s picturesque setting and style has also caught the attention of TV executives on other occasions – as it has also featured in the Channel 4 series Extraordinary Escapes. 

The final series of Sex Education tracks the beloved characters as they leave Moordale Secondary to start at Cavendish Sixth Form College.

Original characters such as Otis, Eric and Aimee (Aimee Lou Wood) all begin at the college while Maeve (Emma Mackey) heads over the US to start studying at the prestigious Wallace University.  

However the fourth season dropped to a lukewarm reception from critics and was branded ‘underdeveloped’. 

The Guardian’s Lucy Mangan branded the season ‘one long list of frustrations’, noting ‘the overstuffed cast means that everyone and everything is underdeveloped’ in her three star review.

The first episodes of the show debuted on Netflix in 2019 and it was confirmed in July that it would end after the recent season.
