President Joe Biden has nominated the University of Pennsylvania’s China-linked President as the next US Ambassador to Germany.
Amy Gutmann is a prominent professor of political science in Christopher H. Brown and was hailed by Fortune as one of the “50 Greatest Leaders in the World” in 2018, according to the university.
And she has been the president of UPenn since 2004.
However, according to the National Legal and Policy Center, a conservative public ethics group, the university received tens of millions of private donations from China between 2013 and last year. And after the school opened the Biden Center for diplomacy and global engagement, the total dollar increased dramatically.

Last year, NLPC petitioned UPenn for $ 22 million in “anonymous” donations from the country to the Biden Center, for a total of $ 70 million from China.
“The University of Pennsylvania has blocked all inquiries about the identities of Chinese donors who have made an anonymous donation of $ 22 million to the university,” NLPC Chairman Peter Flaherty told Fox News on Saturday. “I think it’s time for her (Dr. Gutmann) to answer the question and identify the donor.”
The Biden Center was opened in March 2017, about a year before Biden announced the 2020 presidential election.
The complaint alleges that of the total $ 7.7 million donations from China in 2017, $ 500,000 came from anonymous donors. After Biden launched the campaign in 2018, the total has skyrocketed to $ 27.1 million, with anonymous donors donating $ 15.8 million. And in 2019, Chinese donors donated $ 26.9 million and anonymously $ 6 million to the center.
“Academia is full of Chinese cash,” Fraherty said. “It’s time for admins to start answering questions about it.”
Biden Chosen by Secretary of State Under Fire for China’s Biden Center Fund
And Gutmann wasn’t the first person to be appointed to the role of Biden management in connection with the Biden Center at UPenn and the Chinese donation dispute, and NLPC member Tom Anderson had the potential for “everyone” in November. I predicted that I would be a member of the Biden administration.
“This center is an incubation for Biden’s foreign policy team and a natural place to choose the Secretary of State,” said Biden, director of the NLPC’s Public Integrity Project, shortly after Biden announced Antony Blinken as secretary. Tom Anderson told Fox News. Of the Secretary of State.
Blinken was Managing Director of the Biden Center from 2017 to 2019 when he participated in the Biden presidential election. However, he was not forced to answer questions about China’s donations at the confirmation hearing.

The university completely denied NLPC’s allegations, calling it “totally nonsense” at the time and denying “asking for a gift to the Penbyden Center.”
“Since the start of 2017, we have received three unsolicited gifts from two donors. [for a total of] “Neither donor was from China,” UPenn’s vice president of communications, Stephen MacCarthy, told reporters last year.

But Anderson argued that putting Biden’s name at the center was an act of solicitation in itself.
“All operators, spies and foreign agents around the world immediately turned to college and put their wallets on the day they used Biden’s name,” he said. “Corruption is not necessarily a money issue. Sometimes it is an access issue.”
The school did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment.
