Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow dropped his little finger with his throwing hand during the 41-22 defeat to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.
Barrow injured his right Pinky when he was sacrificed by a strip sack more than six minutes before the opening quarter. He remains in the contest and claims to be on the field for a home game with the San Francisco 49ers next Sunday.
“That’s what I have to deal with,” Burrow told reporters. “That’s why you won’t miss the game. It’s not likely to happen.”
Barrow completed 24 out of 40 passes, one touchdown and two passcuts at 300 yards during Sunday’s setback. He also rushed to the third touchdown of the season.
As the fingers became more and more painful, Bengal training staff tried to tape the fingers and give them barrow gloves to protect their hands.
However, Barrow eventually stripped off the tape and didn’t want a piece of glove.
“It was decided to feel better or keep throwing some balls,” Barrow said. “I have decided that I can throw the ball.”
The 300-yard outing was the third of Barrow’s season. He passed 3,135 yards, 23 touchdowns and 14 passcuts in 12 games.
