BCSO detainees arrested and accused of assaulting prisoners

According to Sheriff Javier Salazar, a deputy Sheriff of Bexar County has been detained after assaulting a prisoner on Tuesday night.

At a press conference, Salazar said the assault took place in Bexar County Detention Center around 6 pm.

According to Salazar, a surveillance video showed a 34-year-old detainee assaulting a prisoner after he spoke to his adjutant.

Agents and investigators arrested a five-year veteran agent in detention center, according to Salazar.

The prisoner was taken for cross-examination and decided to file a legal accusation with the detainee.

According to Salazar, the prisoner was a 43-year-old man who was charged with two robbers. He was not seriously injured.

Detainees face allegations of physical injury and assault due to official crackdowns. Salazar said they were also in the process of dismissing the adjutant.

The identity of the agent was not immediately disclosed.
