Washington (Reuters)-AT & T Inc led bidders at the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) 3.45 GHz band spectrum 5G spectrum auction and won a $ 9 billion bid, US regulators said Friday.

According to the FCC, the auction generated a total of $ 22.5 billion in revenue. T-Mobile earned $ 2.9 billion and Weminuche LLC earned $ 7.3 billion. This suggests that some analysts and FCC documents will bid on behalf of Dish. The dish, which did not comment immediately on Friday, confirmed that it had applied for participation in the auction in November.

AT & T declined to comment.

US Cellular won the $ 580 million bid.

The FCC said that more than one-third of the top 100 markets have at least four successful bidders, more extensively than previous auctions. The broader range and distribution of successful bidders “will intensify competition by providing a variety of wireless operators with the mid-band spectral resources needed to maintain American leadership in 5G.” ..

“Making commercial use of this spectrum is important for the continued economic recovery and 5G leadership of the United States,” said FCC Chair Jessica Rosenwessel.
