Khartoum (Reuters) -The military arrested some members of Sudan’s private leaders before dawn on Monday, Al Hadath TV reported, as a prominent democratization promotion group resisted a military coup against Sudanese. Asked him to go out on the street.

Family sources told Reuters that the army had attacked Sudan’s Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok’s media adviser’s house and arrested him.

There was no immediate comment from the military. Sudanese national television broadcasts as usual.

Reuters witnesses said Internet services appeared to be down in the capital Khartoum.

Citing unidentified sources, Al Hadas was arrested at home in Hamdock, with unidentified troops of four ministers, one ruling sovereign council civilian, and several governors and political parties. He said he had arrested the chief.

Sudan is in crisis since the failure of last month’s coup program unleashed fierce criticism between military and private groups intended to share power following the expulsion of former leader Omar al-Bashir in 2019. It is on the verge.

Bashir was defeated and imprisoned after months of street protests. A political transition was agreed after his expulsion was intended to lead to elections by the end of 2023.

As tensions increased this month, a coalition of rebels and political parties worked with the military. Military supporters are sitting outside the presidential residence, calling on the military to dissolve the civilian government.

Last week, several ministers participated in large-scale protests in some parts of Khartoum and other cities in opposition to the junta’s outlook.

The military commander of the Sovereign Council previously insisted on a commitment to the transition.
