(Reuters) – Apple Inc. will host its annual spring launch event on March 8, the iPhone maker said on Wednesday.
The company is expected to release a low-cost version of its popular iPhone with 5G, a new version of the iPad Air and an advanced Mac Mini.
“Look at the performance. March 8. “We’re talking there,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple ‘s senior vice president of marketing.
The company did not share further details about the event.
The new phone will be the first update of the iPhone SE model in two years and it is rumored that it will come with an improved camera and faster processor.
5G-enabled iPhones have been a big focus of Apple for its flagship product, with the latest iPhone 13 showcasing custom 5G antennas and radio accessories for faster speeds as customers seek out powerful devices with better connectivity.
The most valuable company in the world, Apple has managed to overcome supply chain issues that crippled other industries and companies that led to product shortages during the festive season to record sales, thanks to the popularity of its iPhones.
Last year, Apple released AirTags, a small tracking device that has been criticized for spamming that could jeopardize users’ privacy.
Apple usually hosts three events each year to launch new products, starting in the spring and announcing the release of its latest iPhone line just before the holiday season.
