Animals guitarist Hilton Valentine dies at age 77

Hilton Valentine, a guitarist and founding member of The Animals, has passed away. He was 77 years old.

The death of a British musician was announced by Abkco Music & Records on Friday.

“I would like to express my deepest sympathies. @HiltonValentineFamily and friends died this morning at the age of 77. Valentine, a founding member and original guitarist of The Animals, was a pioneering guitarist who influenced the sound of rock and roll over the next few decades, “said a Twitter statement. Read.

The announcement showed a photo of an artist kneeling in front of the Newcastle Gateshead Local Heroes plaque in the United Kingdom.

The cause of death has not been clarified.

Valentine was born in 1943 in North Bumberland, England. He became a member of The Animals in 1962 with frontman Eric Burdon.

The band’s final album was titled “Ark” in 1983. The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994, 11 years later.

The Hollywood Reporter states that Valentine later lived in California and did solo projects such as the albums “All in Your Head” and “Skiffledogon Coburg Street.”
