An Ohio judge pleads guilty to the case of the first police officer charged with the murder of a woman in prostitution.

An Ohio jury has not been able to determine the guilt or innocence of a Columbus police officer previously charged with murdering a woman while working in secret, claiming the a judge to announce a criminal conviction Friday.

The decision came after jurors failed to reach an agreement after 10 hours of three -day deliberations in Andrew Mitchell’s case. He has been charged with murder and manslaughter in the death of Donna Castleberry, 23, when she said it was an act of prostitution, Fox company WTTE-TV reported.

During the performance, 10 witnesses testified, including Mitchell.

The jury began deliberations Wednesday and told Franklin County Judge David Young the table was closed. Seven jurors found Mitchell’s use of force inappropriate, while two found it inappropriate and three disapproved, NBC4 reported.

It is unclear if the lawyers will try Mitchell again. He faces life in prison if convicted.

“The state of Ohio will be closely monitoring all options that can implement this and will make it public within seven days,” said Gary Tyack, Franklin County Attorney General.

The former officer is in federal prison for a separate case in which he allegedly forced women to sleep with him to avoid arrest. That case was not taken up with a jury.
