DFW weather: Return of triple digits and Excessive Heat Warnings

The summertime cold front and cool-down was short-lived as highs climb back well above 100° the rest of the week and Excessive Heat Warnings are back in effect.

DALLAS — It was nice to see the cool-down in North Texas! But, it is back to reality the rest of the week.

Versión en Español: Alivio temporal del intenso calor. Temperaturas en los tres dígitos regresan pronto.

Quick facts

  • Excessive Heat Warning back in effect for all of North Texas
  • Fire danger will stay high to elevated
  • Highs above 100° for the foreseeable future

Excessive Heat Warning

All good things must come to an end…

And that good thing was the nice summertime cool-down we’ve had the last several days.

Unfortunately, the heat has returned the rest of the week through the weekend. Highs climb back well above 100° with near or potentially record breaking heat possible.

For this reason, an Excessive Heat Warning is back in effect for all of North Texas starting through Friday and will likely keep being extended through the weekend.

With dangerous heat returning to the area, remember to stay cool and hydrated if outdoors and stay safe!

Fire Danger

Fire danger will continue to stay elevated across all of North Texas for the foreseeable future. High fire danger may even return late week into the upcoming weekend. Make sure to avoid any activities that could cause a spark. Fires will spread quickly under these conditions.
