Police said the incident occurred shortly after 4 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of Hill Street and 6th Street in Los Angeles’ Jewel District.
A man who captured the attack on video said he was working on the 13th floor of a nearby building when he heard a rumbling noise that something was happening on the street.
He told KTLA he ran to the window and witnessed a violent altercation, which included one of the attackers breaking the driver’s window with the steering wheel of his bicycle.
“It was horrible,” said a witness, identified only as Gary.
“I went to the window and saw maybe six or seven kids on bicycles. I see it,” he continued.

According to Gary, nearby bystanders came to the man’s aid and broke up the fight after several minutes of violent physical events.
The driver eventually left the scene and used his spare time to jump into his truck and flee the group.
“People on the street had given him a number so I’m glad they helped,” said Gary. Said. “I know he instantly regretted his decision to get out of the car.”

The driver was eventually able to jump in the car and escape the attackers.
Police said they had received a call from 10 men aged between 15 and 18 who were on bicycles.
