San Antonio According to San Antonio police, a man was arrested after firing a bullet at a restaurant in downtown Whataburger and throwing a weapon into the San Antonio River.
No injuries have been reported in a shooting on 400 blocks on East Commerce Street on Friday night.
Police ran eastward in East Commerce when suspect 18-year-old Pedro Ortega was screaming that a pedestrian had a gun after hearing 10 gunshots in a row in the area. He said he saw him.
According to police, four downtown cyclists chased and arrested Ortega, but not before he was able to throw his pistol into the San Antonio River.
When the authorities created the scene, they noticed that Ortega was discussing with some people at the restaurant.
According to police, Ortega walked across the street, pulled a pistol, and fired 10 bullets into the glass window in front of the restaurant.
At the time of the shooting, there were 40 customers in Whataburger, and some of the bullets went through cups, burgers and Christmas trees, police said. However, no injuries have been reported.
Ortega has been charged with exacerbated assault by deadly weapons, and authorities are still working to retrieve guns from the river.
