A fisherman accidentally catches a record-breaking fish while trying to catch a large fish bait

A record is a record, even if it is not the record you want.

West Virginia anglers wanted to catch catfish, but first needed food. Ironically, it has become the most memorable part of this particular trip.

Before chasing the catfish, Ethan Moss decided to catch the bait. This was when he caught a big skipjack fish.

According to West Virginia Metro News, Ohio-born Ethan Moss went fishing with friends on the Ohio River in April. He was reportedly hoping to catch a large catfish that day, but for another reason his name was put on the register.

Before chasing the catfish, Moss decided to catch the bait. This was when he caught a big skipjack fish. Ohio is reportedly unaware of Skipjack’s record, but West Virginia does (where Moss caught the fish).

“We started getting into them pretty well,” he told the local press. “I actually caught some, and one of them was 19 inches and variable inches. I also measured another that was pretty close to the state record. After about 20 to 30 minutes I Caught this. I had no clue, he was a white bass or a hybrid. I flipped him over to the wall and the guy fishing next to me said, “It’s a state record.” It was.

The moss fish weighed 3.1 pounds and was 19.21 inches long.

Moss said, “It was a really great skipjack. I read a lot and in many states in the south, their record ranges from £ 3 to £ 3.5. The world record is only £ 4.”

Moss was originally looking for food, but reportedly decided to catch a record-breaking fish. He seems to be looking for a replica mount made from fish, but had a hard time finding a taxidermist for the job.
