A Dallas County judge said that only people over the age of 75 were vaccinated with COVID-19 this week, revealing a “third-party” problem.

“This week, the Dallas County Health and Welfare Department sent reservations only to people over the age of 75,” said Judge Clay Jenkins of Dallas County.

Judge Clay Jenkins of Dallas County said Tuesday that only people over the age of 75 would be vaccinated against the coronavirus this week.

“This week, the Dallas County Health and Welfare Service sent reservations only to people over the age of 75,” said Jenkins.

However, the county noticed the problem on Monday afternoon.

“I understood that at 4:20 pm yesterday, and the hours before that were suspicious, because you’re looking at the line and people are getting younger and younger, and they’re all It was a clue because it came from one neighborhood, “said Jenkins.

According to the judge, people shared vaccination booking links at Next Door and other public places.

“The way the next door and newsletter link works is that anyone who got it was on the front line. Unfortunately, that’s the way we’re trying to do it. There is none.”

As a result, the appointment was overbooked, he said.

“We had double-booked people aged 40 in addition to 75,” Jenkins said. “And this week we only had enough vaccines to treat the 75-year-olds we intended, and we actually sent an email.”

Currently, counties are at high risk and are focused on their age group.

April Wallace said his wife, Vicky Moore, received a vaccination reservation email on Sunday. Moore, 59, has ovarian cancer and was enrolled in COVID-19 Shot as part of Group 1B.

Moore signed up for a reservation on Wednesday morning, Wallace said. But on Monday night, Wallace saw Jenkins TweetSaid that the appointment link was mistakenly shared by “an unauthorized third party in Dallas County.”

“How does that happen? You are playing in people’s lives here,” Wallace said.

Wallace said he was dissatisfied with the process of registering for the COVID-19 vaccine.

“I’m worried about my wife Vicky. I want her to be vaccinated. I want to get the vaccine. Everyone else probably has a family, mom, dad or grandparents who want to get the vaccine. Where is it? Where is the support to get everyone on the list? “Wallace said.

WFAA sent a copy of Moore’s vaccination booking email, which appeared to have been sent by DCHHS, to Dallas County on Sunday. A spokeswoman told WFAA that it was under investigation.

“We will get better and better,” Jenkins said. “And these things will be fixed. I hate what happened.”

Jenkins said the county would pass through other vaccine groups as the county received higher doses.
