2021 BET Awards: Complete list of winners and candidates

The 21st BET Awards are back on Sunday night with the theme of “The Year of Black Women”. Award-winning actress Taraji P. Henson hosted the ceremony from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, which was attended by a live audience for the first time since the pandemic began.

“Celebrating black women is neither a fad nor a trend. It’s an eternal mood,” Henson said at the show. “There is plenty of room for us all to prosper, because no one can be like me and no one can be like you.”

Acclaimed rapper and actress Queen Latifah won this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award For her “amazing success” throughout her decades of career. Rappers Lil’Kim, Rhapsody, MC Lyte and Monie Love honored entertainers with their performances on their songs “Ladies First” and “UNITY”. After that, Queen Latifah gave a speech and thanked her.

“I would like to thank BET for creating an exit for the beautiful blackness to flourish and shine,” said Queen Latifah, receiving the award. “There was a BET that allowed us to get full when we couldn’t play the video elsewhere, when we couldn’t play the video elsewhere.”

Rapper Megan Thee Stallion has partnered with DaBaby for the most nominations for the night and won the “Best Female Hip Hop Artist”, “Best Collaboration”, “Viewer’s Choice” and “Video of the Year” awards. ..

Rap Legend DMX, Who Died Since the heart attack earlier this year, he has been honored at the ceremony with special tribute performances from Busta Rhymes, Method Man, Swizz Beatz and Michael K. Williams.

Andra Day, City Girls, DJ Khaled, Jazmine Sullivan, Lil Nas X, Kirk Franklin and Migos were among the stars at the annual awards ceremony.
